Launch of the Hosingen bypass

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Hosingen bypass took place on 8 June 2023. Félix Giorgetti is proud to be part of this major mobility project in the north of the country.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the Hosingen bypass took place on Thursday 8 June, a much-awaited piece of infrastructure in this municipality through which more than 17,000 vehicles pass every day.

The event was attended by François Bausch (Minister for Mobility and Public Works), Romain Wester (Mayor) and Marc Ries (Ponts et Chaussées).

First step: the cut -and- cover section

The 4.4 km Hosingen bypass will start at the "Op der Héi" roundabout and end a few hundred metres after the new Hosingen-Nord interchange, near Dorscheid. The route comprises 7 bridges (including two biotope structures and a wildlife crossing) and 1 cut-and-cover.

The Ponts et Chaussées chose Félix Giorgetti and Baatz to build the cut-and-cover section. With a length of 352 m, this first part of the project will consist of two tubes, each with two traffic lanes.

Work is due to start after this summer's summer holidays, with completion scheduled in three years' time.
